(VOVworld) - The Syrian government and rebel forces agreed to a one-day cease-fire in Homs on Friday, allowing 1,000 opposition fighters to withdraw from the city, said the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

SOHR reported that the deal, which was valid on May 2
nd, allowed around 1000 opposition gunmen to leave the city with their weapons. The deal also stated that the Syrian government will take over the control of Homs, Syrian third largest city, while the city’s adjacent areas of Al-Waer where most of refugees from Homs are locating, will be still under the rebel control.
