Syria: severe clashes in Aleppo kill nearly 90

(VOVworld) - The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported Sunday that at least 85 people have been killed in the Syrian government’s air strikes targeting rebels’ strongholds in the northern city of Aleppo. According to SOHR, the government’s helicopters dropped barrels of explosions onto areas of rebels’ strongholds in Aleppo, the 2nd largest city in Syria, killing 85, among which, 65 are ordinary people.

The air strike caused a great number of casualties, just after the government army’s attack at the rebels in this city last December, killing hundreds of people. The incident took place on Sunday, just one day after the peace talks in Geneva, Switzerland between the government and the rebels ended without any specific results.
