Stella Rizki, Marketing Director of JW Mariot Jakarta Hotel, said there’s a sharp increase in the number of Indonesian tourists coming to Vietnam in the first months of 2024. The Vietnamese cuisine week is also an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam.
“We notice there has been an influx of tourists from Indonesia to Vietnam. That is something we still highlight. We would love to facilitate the cultural exchanges. I personally really love it. I think the flavors are quite similar. Some dishes are similar. I think each region of Vietnam has similar dishes to Indonesian food. I think that’s why we notice a lot of Indonesians enjoy Vietnamese food,” Stella Rizki said.

According to a report by Klook, an online booking platform, the number of Indonesian travelers to Vietnam skyrocketed eight times in the first quarter of this year against the same period last year. Vietnam’s new direct flights and incentives for Muslim tourists, plus its distinctive culture and cuisine are expected to lure more Indonesians to Vietnam.
