At the event organized by the municipal authorities, participants expressed their aspirations  and contributed opinions to develop Da Nang. Nguyen Dinh Viet, a Vietnamese expat in the Netherland, said: “I couldn’t imagine how rapidly Vietnam has developed. During my trip I have met many acquaintances. We love Vietnam very much. My children also want to return to Vietnam.”

Overseas Vietnamese over the years have contributed to Da Nang’s development in foreign investment, healthcare, culture, art, sports, and humanitarian aid activities. In 2019 foreign remittance sent to the city amounted to  170 million USD.
