Tet gifts offered to disadvantaged people across Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan delivered gifts to 150 poor workers and poor households in Tra Vinh province on Sunday a head of the Lunar New Year or Tet.

The provincial Trade Union gave 500 gifts to workers and built 4 charity houses for disadvantaged workers. Le Thi Kim Chi, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Confederation of Labour, said: “As Tet draws near, we have built houses for people. The province also gave gifts to workers so they can enjoy a happy Tet with their family.”

The same day, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung delivered gifts to 50 disadvantaged Catholic families in Hanoi.

Hanoi has donated more than 17 million USD in cash and Tet gifts to the poor, revolutionary contributors, and policy beneficiaries. So far, the city has given gifts to more than 850,000 people to ensure that they will enjoy a happy Tet.
