All government officials have been instructed to use the utmost tolerance in dealing with street protests. The government says it is ready to encourage government organizations shutdown by the protests to continue their work. Meanwhile, Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party said Thursday that his party will persist in its efforts to oust the current regime. The Democrat Party says that it does not acknowledge the current Thai government. The UN and several nations including China, the US, and the UK released official statements expressing concern about the situation in Thailand and calling on both sides to keep calm, refrain from using force, and find a peaceful solution. 30 countries have issued travel advisories warning their citizens traveling in Thailand to avoid protest sites.
