(VOVWORLD) -A grand ceremony was held on Wednesday to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19), National Day (September 2) and the establishment of the revolutionary administration of Thai Nguyen province (August 20).

The event took place in Thai Nguyen’s headquarters of the National Assembly Delegation and was organized by the provincial People's Council and People's Committee.
At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the heroic tradition and significance of the August Revolution, National Day and the establishment of the revolutionary administration as well as the province’s development process. After 80 years, Thai Nguyen is now one of the provinces with high growth rates in the northern midland and mountainous regions.
The average economic growth rate is over 7% per year; industry continues to be the driver of growth; programs of social security, poverty reduction, housing support for people with meritorious services and poor households have all been completed ahead of schedule and surpassed the targets set by the Government.

In his remarks, Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Trịnh Việt Hùng said that entering a new development phase, Thai Nguyen is making efforts to reform administration, improve the investment environment; develop high-tech industry, modern agriculture and new rural areas; and improve the quality of human resources. The province is set to become a modern industrial center with high income by 2030 and a developed, high-income province by 2045.
“Thai Nguyen continues to focus on investing in building a coordinated and modern socio-economic infrastructure; building, renovating, and upgrading key traffic routes, connecting regions, routes coupled with tourist, service and resort areas. Simultaneously, the province is developing rural infrastructure, especially remote and ethnic minority areas; promoting information technology infrastructure, telecommunications, digital infrastructure, data infrastructure, among others,” Mr. Hung said.
