In her opening speech, the Thai Princess said the honored teachers over the past 10 years have continuously spread their influences and contributed significantly to education development and international integration of their localities. She expressed her belief that the teachers, with their passion for education, will continue to be role models to fully promote the potential of students and contribute more to community development.

11 excellent teachers took turns sharing their experiences and achievements in teaching and educational management after receiving the Award last year.

Vice Principal of Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted in Hoa Binh Province, teacher Nguyen Manh Hung, said: “I will keep on promoting the activities that I am doing effectively in education and management, improving children’s life skills, and engaging in charitable activities. In the coming school year, we will introduce new educational models on survival skills for children in natural disasters.”

The Princess Maha Chakri Award, which honors teachers who have made significant contributions to education and the community, was established in 2015 on the 60th birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. So far, 55 excellent teachers from 11 Southeast Asian countries have been honored with the award. From 2024, the award will be extended to three more countries outside Southeast Asia, including Bangladesh, Bhutan and Mongolia.
