(VOVworld) – The 7th congress of the Korean Workers’ Party opened in Pyongyang on Friday.

This is the first full meeting of the Korean Workers’ Party in 36 years and the first congress under the leadership of Kim Jong-un.
The 4-day meeting is considered important for North Korea to consolidate national solidarity.
The congress will discuss policies on national political and economic affairs and medium- and long-term development programs, and change some of the high-ranking personnel of the Party and state.
No information has been released about how many deputies will participate or who has been invited.
