(VOVworld) – On Monday, the UN Syrian envoy, Staffan de Mistura, had separate meetings with representatives of the Syrian government and the main opposition group in Geneva to promote the peace negotiation process in Syria.

Mr. de Mistura met Syrian government representatives first, and with representatives from the High Negotiations Committee 6 hours later. The UN sponsored peace talks in Syria are expected to take place in 6 months to bring an end to Syria’s civil war.
