The world condemns bomb blast in Turkey

(VOVworld) – On Tuesday, UN Chief Ban Ki-moon condemned the suicide bomb attack in Istanbul, Turkey, calling it a “despicable crime” and said the perpetrators must face justice.

Mr. Ban Ki-moon sent his condolences to Turkey and Germany which has 8 citizens killed in this attack. On the same day, the White House criticized the bomb blast, adding that it would stand side by side with Turkey in the fight against terrorism. German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed “solidarity” with Turkey and added that Berlin would put up a determined fight against terror. The EU said it would join Turkey in the fight against terrorism of all forms, saying this would be top priority for discussion at the upcoming EU-Turkey conference. The suicide bomber has been identified as a 27-year-old man with the origin of Syria. He is a member of the Islamic State group. The bomb attack killed 10 foreigners, 8 of whom are German nationality.
