Thousands of people visit General Vo Nguyen Giap’s tomb

(VOVworld) – Thousands of people flocked to Vung Chua-Yen island to pay tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap on January 1.

Senior Lieutenant Dong Thanh Hai, deputy head of the security team at the General’s tomb said the number of people visiting this place increased significantly during the New Year holiday.

By January 1, there have been approximately 400 delegations with 7,000 visitors. Hai said that close to 1.5 million people have paid tribute to the General so far.
