The visit is made at the invitation of First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez.

The visit, which takes place as the two countries are preparing to celebrate 65 years of diplomatic relations in 2025, reaffirms Vietnam’s solidarity and special friendship with Cuba. It also emphasized the foreign policy outlined by the 13th National Party Congress, which places great importance on and constantly seeks to develop relations with traditional friends.

“The visit demonstrates the willingness of the Party and State of Vietnam and the Party and State of Cuba to continue strengthening mutual understanding and coordination in international issues. Both sides will discuss ways to enhance multi-faceted cooperation, including economic and trade collaboration,” said Head of the Party Central Committee’s External Relations Commission, Le Hoai Trung.

Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen said this very special visit takes place at a time when the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries have become a symbol of international solidarity and frienship.
