The school, also known as T78 Friendship High School, was established in 1958 to help Laos train human resources for national liberation and construction.

It now serves both Lao students and Vietnam’s ethnic minority students. Chairman Hue underlined the crucial role of the high school in cultivating the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos and in helping the Party and State successfully implement ethnic minority policies.

“All the students here, no matter where they come from, should take the school as your common house, and love and support each other for joint progress. I believe that you’ll shine in your study and contribute to nurturing the relationship between the two countries,” he said.

So far T78 Friendship High School has trained more than 2,700 Lao students, many of whom have held important positions in the Lao Party and State.
