Working with local leaders on Monday, Chairman Hue said that a major problem facing Soc Trang and the Mekong Delta as a whole is poor transportation connectivity.

It is important to integrate coastal areas with the mainland, expedite infrastructure development, accelerate administrative reforms and human resource development, and lure more investment in agro-aquatic product processing, he said.

Visiting representatives of Soc Trang’s Buddhist community, Chairman Hue said ethnic minorities and religious followers are always an inseparable part of the Vietnamese ethic community.

He asked Buddhist dignitaries to continue joining hands with authorities to improve the livelihoods of the Khmer ethnic people.
