Top legislator’s activities in Cambodia

(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan met representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy and community in Cambodia on Wednesday morning.

She spoke highly of the role of Overseas Vietnamese and asked them to continue to help nurture relations between Vietnam and Cambodia. She pledged the most favourable conditions for Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to work for national defense, construction and development.

Earlier, Ms. Ngan met the President of the Senate of Cambodia Samdech Say Chhum. Both sides expressed their wish to settle pending issues to build a common border line of peace, friendship, and development. Senate President Chhum said Cambodia considers Vietnam a good brother, neighbour, and partner. He also welcomed the results of border demarcation and marker planting between the two countries.

Also that day, Ngan paid a courtesy call to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni. She made it clear that the Vietnamese Party, State, NA and people will exert their utmost efforts to nurture its traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Cambodia.

The King said that the Cambodian people always bear in mind the great and valuable support of Vietnam, especially during the national liberation and the current national development.

He believed that the visit would further tighten the neighbourliness and long-standing friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

Vietnam’s top legislator visited Cho Ray Phnom Penh hospital and the Angkor Milk plant before leaving for Myanmar for a visit and attending the 37th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
