Chairman Hue said Vietnam hopes to enhance connections with Mexico via Party, governmental, parliamentary, and people-to-people channels.
The two leaders applauded the encouraging recent outcomes in their countries’ relations. They agreed there is still room for broader economic and trade links, since both countries are members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
The parliaments of Vietnam and Mexico should facilitate businesses’ access to each other’s markets and capitalize on the CPTPP’s preferential treatment to foster economic and trade ties, they said.
The two agreed to work together on cross-border crime, terrorism, regional security, policy exchanges, maritime security cooperation, experience in participating in maritime peacekeeping forces, and defense officer training. Mexico is ready to negotiate agreements on customs and education, said Ms. Cordero.
The two said that both sides will continue to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-ranking leaders of the National Assembly, specialized committees and friendship parliamentary groups, strengthen sharing of experience between committees, especially on sustainable development, adaptation to climate change, energy transition, protection of peace and security, and global and regional security.
They agreed to maintain consultation, coordination, and mutual support at multilateral cooperation mechanisms, and international parliamentary forums.
