(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is targeting 2.4 billion USD from tra fish exports this year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Tran Dinh Luan, Deputy Director General of the Directorate of Fisheries, said the goal is totally within reach as all of Vietnam’s processing plants have met the standards set by tough markets like the US, Japan, and the EU. Tra fish prices remain relatively high and stable, generating great profits for farmers and attracting larger investment in tra fish processing for exports, Luan said.
Vietnam’s tra fish exports brought back a record of 2.26 billion USD last year, an increase of more than 26% compared to a year earlier.
