(VOVWORLD) -16,000 troops, the Army's weapons and equipment, and the Police's specialized vehicles rehearsed on Thursday evening at Hanoi’s Ba Dinh Square for National Day parade and march. Delegations from the Russian Armed Forces, the Lao People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Army took part in the full rehearsal.

Head of the Party Central Committee’s Information, Education and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia and General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense, inspected the program.
After marching through the stage at Ba Dinh Square, military and civilian contingents split into various directions, passing through the central streets of Hanoi.

Thousands of Hanoiians and visitors lined the sidewalks, cheering and waving the disciplined formations to the sound of revolutionary music. Some of them said: “The formations are beautiful, everyone is beautiful. The weapons and equipment are really magnificent.”
“It’s so exciting and cheerful.”
“All the formations are very beautiful. I am honored to be here to watch them.”
As planned, the full rehearsal will continue at Ba Dinh Square on the evening of August 24 and August 27 and on the morning of August 30, before the massive parade and march on September 2.
