Trump and Kim held a private bilateral meeting at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and agreed to restart talks after nuclear negotiations stalled earlier this year. Trump has become the first sitting US President to step into North Korea. He said in a statement that stepping across the border was a great honor, adding he and Kim have a great friendship.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday told a Cabinet meeting that the summit in the DMZ signified that the two countries declared an end to hostile relations and the start of an era of peace. Moon also called the summit the fruits of amazing imagination, saying it was arranged due to Trump’s unprecedented Twitter offer for a meeting and Kim’s bold decision to accept it.
