From twenty-seven metres, Tai struck a powerful shot that rebounded off Jonathan Khemdee and went into Kiaditiphon Udom's net.

The match ended with a 2-2 draw. Vietnam and Thailand earned a point each in their Group C opener.
Tai's goal is the earliest in the 2022 AFC U23 Championship final since Korean midfielder Cho Jae-wan scored against Malaysia in the 12th second of the 2018 quarterfinals.

The current record belongs to striker Marwan Farhad at the 7th second in the match between the host United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman earlier this year.
