Turkish FM: Differences over Syria don’t affect Turkey-Russia relations

(VOVWORLD) - Differences over Syria should not affect Turkey’s relations with Russia.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu made the statement during talks on Saturday with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. Mr. Cavusoglu said that he had a "positive meeting" with Lavrov, adding a Turkish delegation would go to Moscow on Monday for talks.

Mr. Lavrov said Russia had very good ties with Turkey, but the sides did not always agree on all issues. Foreign Minister Lavrov said both sides respect other's stance.
