Twenty Vietnamese teams qualified to compete in VEX Robotics World Championship 2023

(VOVWORLD) - 20 teams have outperformed 149 other teams from primary and secondary schools across Vietnam to qualify for the 2023 VEX Robotics World Championship in May in the US.

The national tournament concluded on Sunday after two days of competition which drew 2,000 spectators to the Hanoi University of Science and Technology and 7,500 more, who watched online.

The tournament was organized by STEAM for Vietnam, a US non-profit organization founded and operated by Vietnamese around the world, the US Embassy in Vietnam, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Teams competed in the Robot Skills Challenge and the Alliance Challenge.

The top prizes went to Team Mission Possible from the Talent Training and Development Center (GATES center) and the Wellspring Inter-Bilingual School (secondary school group) and to Team Switch from Vinschool Time City (primary school group).

The VEX Robotics World Championship is held annually, bringing together more than 3,000 teams from 60 countries around the world.

This is the first time that Vietnam will compete in the tournament. It ranks 5th in the number of participating teams, behind the US, China, Australia, and the UK.
