A Unification Ministry official in Seoul said the two sides will meet at the deputy minister level on Dec 11 in the Kaesong joint industrial zone, inside North Korea. The consensus was reached at working-level talks held on Thursday in the border truce village of Panmunjom, marking the first inter-governmental interaction since August when the two sides sat down to defuse a crisis that had pushed them to the brink of an armed conflict.

At the upcoming dialogue, the two Koreas will have a “comprehensive discussion of pending issues related to improving ties". Preparations and required procedures for the talk will be discussed via the liaison office at the Panmunjom village.
