Two new deputy prime ministers approved
(VOVworld)- The National Assembly on Wednesday approved the Prime Minister’s nomination of Vu Duc Dam and Pham Binh Minh as Vietnam’s two new deputy prime ministers. Pham Binh Minh, Vietnam’s Foreign Minister got 85% and Vu Duc Dam, 84% of the votes. The Vietnamese government now has 5 deputy prime ministers. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said:“The National Assembly overwhelmingly approved the Prime Minister’s nomination of Vu Duc Dam and Pham Binh Minh. We believe they will fulfill their tasks and be worthy of National Assembly’s trust”.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam will be in charge of affairs related to culture, society, science, education and training. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will be in charge of external affairs.
The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked the National Assembly to approve the nomination of Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, as Minister and Head of the Government Office.
