Two Vietnamese movies to be screened at Cannes 2018 - ảnh 1"Angel Face" is invested and co-produced by Vietnamese artist-turned-businesswoman Ly Nha Ky.

“Angel Face”, a movie co-produced by Vietnamese artist-turned-businesswoman Ly Nha Ky, will be screened at the event. The film will be among 15 contenders for the festival’s Un Certain Regard (A Certain Glance) official selection, which is awarded to international films that tell their stories in non-traditional ways. It is the second most important award at Cannes after the Palme d’Or (Golden Palm), as many past winners of Un Certain Regard also claimed the festival’s highest prize the same year.

Director Bui Thac Chuyen’s movie “Glorious Ashes” is among 15 projects selected to be introduced in "The Atelier" program. The movie features the fates of three women in a poor rural area and the means they adopt to hold onto their men.

The Festival will run a competition for young and lesser-known film makers instead of world-renowned ones.
