Two Vietnamese pagodas listed among the world’s most beautiful

(VOVWORLD) - Tran Quoc Pagoda in Hanoi and Buu Long Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City have been listed among the top 20 most beautiful Buddhist temples in the world by the US magazine National Geographic.

Tran Quoc pagoda is located on a small peninsula on the east side of  West Lake and is nearly 1,500 years old. The 11-story red pagoda is topped by a nine-story gemstone lotus.

Buu Long Pagoda is located on an area of over 11 hectares in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City. Built in 1942, the pagoda is a harmonious combination of influences from Thai and Indian culture, as well as the architecture of Vietnam’s Nguyen dynasty.

The other 18 most beautiful Buddhist temples voted by the US magazine include Wat Rong Khun (Thailand), Seiganto-ji (Japan), Paro Taktsang (Bhutan), and Angkor Wat (Cambodia).
