UAE fires 21-gun salute to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh

(VOVWORLD) -Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan hosted the official welcome ceremony for the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on Monday in the capital Abu Dhabi.

When the motorcade carrying Prime Minister Chinh and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at the Royal Palace square, 21 rounds of cannon fire rang out. The Vice President welcomed Prime Minister Chinh and both entered the main hall, where the Vietnamese National Anthem was played. Afterwards, the two leaders had a photo session. Officials from both sides came to greet the Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Vice President of the UAE.

The visit, the first by a Prime Minister of Vietnam to the UAE in 15 years, is underway when bilateral relations are flourishing in politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, labor and tourism. Political trust and mutual understanding are constantly strengthened; Delegation exchange activities take place vibrantly at various levels; Economic cooperation is always an important pillar and a bright spot in the two countries’ cooperation.

The UAE is currently Vietnam's largest export market in the Middle East-Africa region, with bilateral trade turnover in the first nine  months of this year reaching 4.96 billion USD, higher than last year.

PM Chinh's official visit is expected to contribute to strengthening political trust, elevating relations, and creating breakthroughs in bilateral ties in numerous fields, from economy, trade, and investment to new areas such as innovation, science, technology, energy and Halal industry.

In particular, during the visit, the two sides are expected to upgrade the bilateral relations and sign the Vietnam-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), striving to soon achieve the target of 10 billion USD in trade turnover in the near future.
