(VOVworld) – The UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne released details of his tax affairs on Monday, following the lead of Prime Minister David Cameron.

Mr. Osborne has a total taxable income of nearly 199,000 pounds (283,500 USD), on which he paid some 72,000 pounds (102,000 USD). He said he has no interests or shares in offshore firms.

On Sunday, Cameron became the first Prime Minister to publish his tax affairs. The documents showed Cameron and his wife Samantha earned 19,000 pounds in 2010 after selling their shares in Blairmore Holdings, a secret offshore investment fund founded by his late father, Ian Cameron. Cameron released this information after admitting that his handling of the questions about his financial affairs could have been better. He also announced a new task force to investigate tax evasion.
