(VOVworld) - Prime Minister David Cameron said on Monday that the UK would not join a possible EU common asylum system. He insisted that the UK's opt-out from the Schengen no-border zone enables it to keep its strong border controls. His announcement followed reports that the EU could propose centralising claims for asylum as part of an overhaul of its refugee policy, due to be announced next week.
