The first cubic meters of gas have been transmitted to the EU, according to reports from the gas transmission system operator (TSO) in Ukraine.
On December 31, Russia and Ukraine signed a 5-year gas transit deal, which is expected to generate over 7 billion USD for Ukraine. Ukraine will transit at least 65 billion cubic meters of gas in 2020, and 40 billion cubic meters each year from 2021 to 2024. The contract may be extended to 10 years upon expiration.
