(VOVworld) - Eastern Ukrainian rebels said Saturday they have withdrawn all heavy weaponry from the front line in accordance with the Minsk-2 peace agreements.

The Russia Today cited a representative of the Donetsk People’s Republic as saying Donetsk completed the withdrawal of troops and heavy weaponry, including 21 artillery groups, from 6 war zones. Militias in Lugansk region said they removed most of their heavy arms out of the front line but will need a couple more days to complete the withdrawal of troops.

UN estimated that the year-long fighting in eastern Ukraine has killed 5,800 people and injured 15,000. Infrastructure in war-rampaged area has been seriously destroyed.
