(VOVworld) - The caretaker Ukrainian government said that it would not withdraw troops from the south-eastern regions of the country, despite the agreement reached in Geneva. Acting Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Deshchytsa said at a press briefing after the quadripartite meeting between representatives of Russia, the US, EU and Ukraine in Geneva, Switzerland.

Meanwhile, at an irregular cabinet meeting on Thursday, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk called on gunmen occupying government buildings in the eastern region to lay down their arms, leave the buildings, and follow the orders of police and security agencies. He said that the interim Ukrainian government is willing to have dialogues with both the eastern and western regions.

Also at this meeting, the interim Ukrainian government approved a decision on discussions on amendments and supplements to the Ukrainian Constitution regarding human rights issues to be held before October 1st this year.

In another related development, Russia has requested Ukraine to officially explain its migration restrictions applied on Russian citizens, saying it may consider retaliating measures.
