UK’s Labor Party, Conservative Party pledge to boost economy ahead of July 4 election

(VOVWORLD) - The UK’s opposition Labour Party said Tuesday that it received letters of support from more than 100 business leaders in the UK, while theConservative Party said it will create 100,000 high-skilled apprenticeship positions per year until 2029 if it wins the national election on July 4.

A letter of support signed by 100 leadersof retail, advertising, travel, and finance companies, said they support the Labor Party and believe it’s time for the UK to end economic instability and stagnation. This is a move to solidify the advantage Keir Starmer's opposition Labor Party has over Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's ruling Conservative Party.

Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves has promised that if they win the early general election, the Labor Party will consider promoting preferential tax policies for businesses. Shesaid that, although it represents labor, the Labor Party is increasingly supported by the business community.

“Across the world of bussinesses, Labor is being recognized as a natural partner, a party of growth, and a party of enterprises. Under the leadership of Mr. Keir Starmer, we have changed the Labor Party so that we might change Britain for the better.”

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party are also focusing their campaign on economic issues. During a Wednesday visit to a number of businesses in the Staffordshire area, Sunak saidthat if the Conservative Party wins, his government will spend 1.1 billion USD to train an additional 100,000 apprentices per year.
