UN condemns attack on civilians in Niger
(VOVWORLD) - The UN Secretary-General has strongly condemned Saturday’s attack by unidentified gunmen on two villages in western Niger, which killed at least 58 civilians.

Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for the Secretary-General, has sent the deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and expressed his hope that the injured will recover soon.
The UN leader has urged the Nigerien authorities to spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
He reiterated the UN’s commitment to continued support for Niger in its efforts to prevent and combat terrorism and violent extremism.
