Griffiths told reporters on Wednesday that the message he received from the meeting was positive and constructive. He said all parties desire peace and discussed concrete ideas for achieving peace. He said seeking a way to resolve the conflict in Hodeida is sufficient reason to resume political talks.

On June 13, a Saudi-led alliance of Arab states launched an attack on Hodeida, triggering concerns about a growing humanitarian crisis in Yemen since 3-year war erupted between the Houthis and the Gulf states.
