(VOVWORLD) - The UN Security Council concluded an urgent meeting on North Korea’s missile test on Saturday.

15 member countries of the council issued a joint statement, demanding Pyongyang immediately stop its “outrageous actions” and demonstrate its commitment to denuclearizing the Korean peninsula.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron said resuming direct negotiations with North Korea is the only solution to resolve tensions caused by its missile tests, adding that conflicts must be resolved by political and diplomatic means.
On Friday, US disarmament ambassador Robert Wood in the UN said the US wants to make full advantage of diplomatic means in dealing with North Korean issue. Pyongyang accused the US of planning to redeploy tactical nuclear weapons in South Korea.
