(VOVWORLD) - UN special rapporteur on food security Hilal Elver will visit Vietnam from November 13 to November 24 to collect information about food security in Vietnam, a Vietnam News Agency reporter quoted the UN Human Rights Office as saying.

She plans to discuss with the Vietnamese government approaches to securing food access for Vietnamese citizens, especially children and women.

During her 12-day visit, Ms. Elver will meet with Vietnamese government officials, representatives of UN organizations, members of civil societies, and communities throughout the country. She will hold a press conference to share the initial evaluation after her visit at Green One UN House Hanoi on November 24, and will present her final report to a session of the UN Human Rights Council.
