UN urges that more grain be shifted from Ukraine's silos
(VOVWORLD) - Millions of tons of grain from previous harvests in Ukraine need to be cleared to make room in silos for the next harvest, said Amir Abdulla, UN Coordinator for the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

He said the Initiative has started to create some space but much more grain needs to be shifted to make room for the new harvest.
Russia and Ukraine are two of the world’s biggest agricultural exporters. The conflict that began in February severely disrupted Ukraine's grain exports.
Russia and Ukraine last month signed a deal brokered by Turkey and the UN to resume grain exports through Ukrainian seaports.
Ukraine is trying to be able to export about 3 million tons of grain a month by sea to distribute 18 million tons from previous harvests and free up storage for the current crop.
