UNHCR warns of humanitarian disaster in West, Central Africa
(VOVWORLD) -UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, on Saturday warned that millions of people in 21 countries in West and Central Africa are facing the risk of a humanitarian crisis as 9 million people in the region have been forced to flee their homes due to conflicts and climate change.
UNHCR has stepped up efforts to help address the deteriorating humanitarian crisis, calling on the international community to increase support for vulnerable communities.
However, humanitarian aid activities in the region are hindered by armed conflicts and the partial closure of borders.
