(VOVworld) - The US State Department says it will not send a delegation from Washington to attend Syria peace talks due to start in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Monday because of the power transition but the US will be represented by its ambassador to Kazakhstan George Krol.

According to Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry spokesman Anuar Jainakov, delegations from Russia, Turkey, and Iran arrived in Astana already for the negotiation.

Turkey and Russia decided to involve the US in Syria peace talks in Astana despite Iran's rejection.
