(VOVworld) – The US, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on Friday night launched 9 air strikes targeted at the Islamic State in Syria. Besides, the US carried out another 5 attacks in Iraq.

According to US’s army source, the air strikes aimed at IS gunmen and military equipment in Syria. U.S.-led coalition air strikes in northern Syria killed at least 35 IS militants, said the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

This is the latest attacks by the US and Arab countries against the IS after it released the video of beheading the fourth Western citizen Alan Henning, a British driver carrying aids to refugees in Syria. British Prime Minister David Cameron, US President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande strongly criticized the killing and committed to exerting greatest effort to fight against the IS group.
