US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton has said the United States has talked with Russia about the situation in Syria, urging them to be more active and put an end to the ongoing crisis in the Middle Eastern country.

Ms. Clinton stated that the US wants special international envoy Kofi Annan’s peace plan fully implemented, which includes a transfer of power, to end the violence in Syria. Washington is making a number of moves, including consulting with the UN, its allies, and Syria’s opposition, to achieve their aims. Earlier, Kofi Annan had proposed setting up an international group to bring together key global and regional countries to hammer out a solution to end the Syrian crisis.
