US, China begin new round of trade negotiations
(VOVWORLD) - US and Chinese officials met in Washington Wednesday to begin a new high-ranking talks to solve disputes over Beijing’s intellectual property and technology transfer policies.
Cabinet-level officials, led by Chinese Vice Premier Liu He and US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, met near the White House.
This is the highest-level meeting since the two Presidents met last December and agreed to halt their trade war for 90 days. The US demand for Chinese economic reform has prevented both sides from reaching an agreement before the US increases its tariffs on Chinese goods on March 2.
