US, Cuban diplomats discuss bilateral ties
(VOVworld) – US Assistant Secretary of State Roberta Jacobson met with Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Director of US Affairs Josefina Vidal in Washington Thursday, where they discussed a number of issues. Although the meeting’s details have not been disclosed, observers believe one of the topics might have been US citizen Alan Gross, who is serving a prison term in Cuba, and 3 Cuban intelligence officials detained in the US.
The US and Cuban diplomats have recently been signaling readiness for negotiations to improve bilateral ties.
