US, Germany discuss intelligence cooperation

(VOVworld) – US intelligence and security authorities on Tuesday met with officials from Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service and Domestic Security Agency to discuss restoring cooperation in intelligence and counterintelligence. At the meeting, the US affirmed that they had not engaged in industrial or commercial espionage against German targets.

Responding to reporters, US National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden didn’t give details of the talks and said that in general the US was deliberating more effective intelligence cooperation with its allies and partners.
