Congressman Kevin McCarthy, leader of the Republicans in the House of Representatives, said the agreement would be considered again by the House on Thursday.
The Republicans aim to separately vote on the Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) and Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) proposals instead of combining them into a single bill. But the Democrat Congress members rejected it on June 12th. President Obama, who considers the TPP a key feature of his 2nd term, plans to meet leaders of both parties in the Congress to gain their support.
