The Pentagon is readying intense attacks on Syria, set to last three days, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday. War planners now aim to unleash a heavy barrage of missile strikes to be followed swiftly by additional attacks on targets that may have been missed or remain standing after the initial launch, the Los Angeles Times cited officials as saying. White House has asked for an expanded target list to include "many more" than the initial list of around 50 targets, to obtain additional firepower to damage Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces.

On the one hand, White House top-notch official placed the responsibility on Assad, but on other hand acknowledged that so far the US has yet persuasive evidences about use of chemical weapons in Syria on August 21st.

US Secretary of State John Kerry said he and Arab League foreign ministers have agreed that the Syrian’s alleged use of chemical weapons crossed a "global red line". However, the US media say some countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are in favor of the use of force while others like Syria's neighbors Jordan and Lebanon are far more cautious, worrying about the conflict spreading across their borders.
