(VOVworld) – US President Barack Obama will pay an official visit to Vietnam from May 22-25 at the invitation of the Vietnamese leadership, according to the White House Press Secretary.

During his first ever visit to Vietnam, President Obama will meet Vietnamese leaders to discuss ways for the US-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership to advance bilateral cooperation in economics, security, and human rights. During meetings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the President will discuss the important Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement.
At a press briefing in Hanoi on Tuesday, Daniel Russel, US Assistant Secretary of State, said President Obama is looking forward to coming to Vietnam to meet Vietnam’s newly-elected leaders.
