(VOVworld) – A statement by the US State Department said on Tuesday that their comments on air strikes on Libya were aimed toward the countries concerned, not only toward the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt.

In a previous press conference, Jen Psaki, a spokesperson for the US State Department, said that the US believed that the UAE and Egypt had launched air strikes on Libya, reiterating that Washington designated foreign intervention in Libya as a threat to diplomatic efforts that were trying to resolve any conflict. Rear Admiral John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesperson, said that Egypt and the UAE had conducted secret air strikes on Islamic gunmen in Libya. He said that the two countries had backed an offensive against Libyan rebellions for months.
